We are a family that happens to have a child born with an encephalocele. By the grace of God we are living life to the fullest as best we can.

We are home!
Well, surgery went well yesterday. It ONLY took 2 hours to put all the IV's in that they needed. Poor Daniel looks like a pin cushion. BUT, his surgery went without a hitch. Dr. J removed bone from the base of Daniel's skull and removed some scar tissue that was pulling on the dura (lining around the brain)and causing some pressure. We were able to come home by 2:30 this afternoon. Daniel has been asleep every since we came home. He didn't sleep really well yesterday or last night. Hopefully this will keep him pressure free until next year. Will update more later. Thank you for your prayers.

Long time no Blog!
Hello to anyone that may still read this. Happy Easter, Spring, and 4th of July. Seems like I have missed them all. We are enjoying our summer so far. Michael has gone to 2 camps already, Soccer(Ralph Lundy) and Doe River Gorge. Michael has gone to soccer camp for 4 years now and Doe River for 5. He really enjoys them both. He just got picked up at Doe River by his grandparents in TN today. They only live 11 miles from the camp. Michael will stay another week with them in TN. We always miss him when he is not here, it's pretty quiet.
Daniel will be having another surgery on Monday the 13th. His skull is closing a little bit around his brain stem and causing some problems. He is not as bad as he has been in the past, but we decided not to make him anymore uncomfortable than he already is. Overall he has done really well since his bladder surgery, much more comfortable. We have finally gotten his infections under control by doing bladder irrigation with an antibiotic wash.
Will update again sooner than the last time.
